Zulu Mama Chair
¢  The Zulu Mama Chair is an exploration of an indigenous Zulu basket weaving technique that has been adapted for weaving recycled plastic onto recycled stainless steel frames. The baskets express the archetypal feminine activity of gathering, an appropriate gesture for café seating. The weaving work contributes to the economic empowerment of township women.

Polyhedra Coffee Table
The sculptural, porous form of Polyhedra Modular Coffee Table System finds its inspiration in the micro world of organic bone structures. The complex geometry is derived from Weaire-Phelan "soap bubble" structure, and is made up of interlocking dodecahedrons and tetra-decahedrons. These have been rotated and split at an angle that creates a seemingly random pattern, yet it is made up of only 5 different shapes. Multiples of the 5 shapes are effortlessly assembled to one another using neodymium magnets. This enables users to playfully create their own randomly shaped coffee table. One could describe it as "post-rational" Lego for grown-ups

Fiela Feather Arc Light
¢  Inspired by the lightness of dandelions, the Fiela Feather Arc Light, has been designed to create angelic ambiance over dining and lounge spaces. It has been named after Dalene Mathews book "Fiela se Kind". This heart-warming South African story is set in Oudtshoorn, the same ostrich farming district where the feathers that form the diffuser, are sourced. The soft white feathers which give the energy saving CFL lamps a warm natural glow, are arranged in a spherical flower petal pattern. The arc light frame pays homage to the archetypal Arco light by Achille Castiglioni and is made from recycled stainless steel and reconstituted stone. The feathers are a renewable resource, and are also a by-product of the local Ostrich Hide industry.
